## Canonical in-world facts

- The United Nations authorizes and supervises the 5-year trusteeship; China is its primary implementing country for peaceful reconstruction and public-service recovery.
- 2043: the trusteeship and transitional order of 中华美利坚共和国 begin.
- 2048: the first national election, the Common Development Law, full sovereignty and the successful end of trusteeship.
- Chicago is the capital. Washington becomes the permanently demilitarized 华府特别行政区; New York is officially called 新乡.
- The former fifty states are reorganized into 9 highly autonomous regions, with constitutionally recognized Indigenous co-management rights.
- All 4 major parties support continued friendly cooperation with China; 大陆党 and 新联邦联盟 form the coalition government.
